Etienne Guibourg (also known as Étienne Guibourg) was a French alchemist and ceremonial magician who lived in the 16th century. He was involved in a number of notorious scandals, including accusations of necromancy, ritual sacrifice, and devil worship. Guibourg was said to have practiced black magic and to have been involved in the infamous Affair of the Poisons, a series of poisonings and black magic rituals that took place in the court of King Louis XIV in the late 17th century. He was also rumored to have been a member of the notorious French secret society known as the Knights of the Black Sun, which was said to be involved in devil worship and other dark practices. Despite his reputation as a practitioner of black magic, Guibourg also wrote on the subject of alchemy and was considered a skilled metallurgist. However, his involvement in occult activities and his reputation for dark magic have overshadowed his contributions to the field of alchemy.
